သတင္းေထာက္တဦးရဲ႕ မွတ္တမ္း ေရးတဲ့ ဘေလာက္ရွင္ ကၽြန္မဟာ ၁၉၉၈ ကေန ၂၀၁၂ ခုႏွစ္ ေအာက္တုိဘာလ ၁၉ ရက္ အထိ အာအက္ဖ္ေအမွာ အခ်ိန္ျပည့္ ၀န္ထမ္း လုပ္ခဲ့ပါတယ္။

အသံလႊင့္သတင္းေထာက္ဘ၀နဲ႔ ၅ ႏွစ္၊ အယ္ဒီတာအျဖစ္ ၄ ႏွစ္၊ ျမန္မာဌာန ဒုတိယဌာနမွဴးအျဖစ္ ၁ ႏွစ္ နဲ႔ မာလ္တီမီဒီယာ အယ္ဒီတာအျဖစ္ ၄ ႏွစ္၊ စုစုေပါင္း (၁၄) ႏွစ္ ပါ။

၂၀၁၂ ခုႏွစ္ ေအာက္တုိဘာလ ၁၉ ရက္ေန႔မွာေတာ့ ဌာနျပန္လည္ ျပင္ဆင္တယ္လုိ႔ ဆုိျပီး ျမန္မာဌာနက ၀န္ထမ္း ၅ ေယာက္ကုိ အလုပ္က ထုတ္ေတာ့ ကၽြန္မလည္း ပါပါတယ္။

ဘယ္လုိပဲျဖစ္ေစ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံ အတြက္ အလုိအပ္ဆုံး အခ်ိန္တခ်ိန္မွာ သတင္းသမားေယာက္ အေနနဲ႔ စတုတၳ မ႑ဳိင္ကို အုတ္တခ်ပ္ သဲတပြင့္ အေနနဲ႔ ပံ့ပုိးေပးႏုိင္ခဲ့တယ္ လုိ႔လည္း ယုံၾကည္ပါတယ္။ ၁၄ ႏွစ္တာ သတင္းသမား လုပ္ခြင့္ရခဲ့တဲ့ အတြက္ အာရ္အက္ဖ္ေအ ကုိေရာ၊ ဒီဌာန အတြက္ ေငြေၾကးပံ့ပုိးေနတဲ့ အေမရိကန္ ကြန္ကရက္ ကုိပါ ေက်းဇူးတင္ပါတယ္။

ျပီးခဲ့တဲ့ ၁၄ ႏွစ္တာ ကာလအတြင္း ရာထူးေနရာ အမ်ဳိးမ်ဳိးေျပာင္းလုပ္ခဲ့ေပမဲ့ အႏွစ္သက္ဆုံး၊ ရင္ထဲမွာ အက်န္ရစ္ဆုံး ပုံရိပ္ေတြကေတာ့ သတင္းေထာက္ တေယာက္ရဲ႕ အေတြ႔အၾကံဳေတြပါ။ သတင္းေကာင္းတပုဒ္ရဲ႕ ေနာက္ကြယ္မွာ စိတ္၀င္စားစရာ အျဖစ္ေတြရွိေပမဲ့ ဒါေတြကုိ မေဖာ္ျပျဖစ္ပါဘူး။ ေဖာ္ျပခြင့္လည္း မရခဲ့ပါဘူး။ အခု ဒီသတင္းေတြ ေနာက္ကြယ္က သတင္းေတြကုိ မွတ္မွတ္ရရ ေျပာျပခ်င္ပါတယ္။

ဒီလုိ ျပန္ေျပာျပတဲ့အခါ တတ္ႏုိင္သေလာက္ အခ်က္အလက္ ေန႔ရက္ တိက်ေအာင္ ၾကိဳးစားမွာ ျဖစ္ေပမဲ့ ကြဲလြဲခ်က္ရွိခဲ့ရင္ ဘေလာက္ကာ ကၽြန္မရဲ႕ တာ၀န္သာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ဘယ္သူ တဦးတေယာက္ကုိမွ နစ္နာေစလုိတဲ့ ဆႏၵ တစုိးတစိမွ မရွိဘဲ "သတင္းစာမ်ားက သမုိင္းကုိ ေရးေနသည္" ဆုိတဲ့ ေဆာင္ပုဒ္အတုိင္း သမိုင္းမွန္မွာ ကြက္လပ္မ်ား ရွိခဲ့ရင္ ျဖည့္ေပးခ်င္တဲ့ ေစတနာနဲ႔သာ ေရးပါတယ္။

I was employed at Radio Free Asia from 1998 to 2012; 5 years as Broadcaster, 4 years as a Senior Editor for Broadcasting, one year as Deputy Director, and 4 years as a Senior Editor for Multimedia, in Burmese Service. In 2012 October 19, I was one of the employees whose jobs are eliminated under the name of reconstruction.

Nevertheless, I am grateful that I was able to work as journalist during the time when Burma needed an independent media the most, and believe I had contributed to the fourth pillars, if not much, a grain of sand or a piece of brick.

For this I thank RFA, and the US Congress, for its financial support. My roles in the past 14 years at RFA had changed under different titles and functions, although my profound memories come from my reporter's experiences. There is always a Great story behind a Good story, of which we never had chance to report. Here in this blog, I am going to document it.

By doing so, I want to declare my intention here, that I only want to fill the gap in the history, if there was any, but not to harm, insult, degrade, any person or any institution, in any way.
